Hilary elated in the high country. The start of our steep off trail ascent of Shepherds Crest. Hilary would have never been able to do this trip with a 30 pound pack. With a 13 pound pack it was just doable. On a few of the harder sections I was able to carry both packs - Hilary's on my chest youth hostel style.
