AnyGear 7075 Aluminum Tent Stakes

anygear 7075 aluminum tent stakes

MSRP: $10

Stake stats: 7 inch long, 1/2 inch wide, 13~14 grams.

The ANYGEAR stakes (or BIFUNIE tent stakes – buy whichever is available at the time) are constructed from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. Ultralight but much higher tensile strength and you won’t have to worry about the hassle of a broken tent peg in the backcountry.

They offer a better design with a three-side Y-beam design that offers penetration and holding power in a variety of soil types.

3-Latch points also let you secure more than one guyline and make quick adjustments. Each stake includes a highly reflective pull cord, which can ensure easy removal and visibility so you don’t unnecessarily kick them around your tent at night. Ultralight, easy on backpack but long enough to keep your tent secure.

What We Like

  • Affordable
  • Y-neck
  • Single notch
  • reflective ties
  • lightweight

The light stakes that came with your tent are OK but you can do better. Good stakes make tent pitching faster and more secure. For pitching in rocky ground and other difficult areas, we prefer these inexpensive but far stronger tent stakes.

They have only a single notched rib at the head making them extremely resistant to bending and damage when pounding in with a rock — and the 3-Latch points allow you to securely attach the cord even if they are not pounded all the way in.

They have a pre-attached cord to make them easier to pull out — the cord is reflective to keep you from tripping on them during the night. Finally, ‘Y’ stakes have greater holding power than most stakes so they will hold your tent more securely. Alternative Y Stakes are these MSR Cyclone tent stakes at REI.
