The Kammok Bobcat 45 Down Trail Quilt is a competitive option for a summer backpacking quilt. Stuffed with 600 fill down and weighing just over a pound, this fully featured flat quilt has a snap-closure toe box and sleeping pad straps to fully convert into a wrap-around quilt. Furthermore, there is a snapped slit in the middle of the quilt which converts it into a poncho to be worn around camp. This saves you further weight, as you may be able to ditch the puffy jacket especially in the summer when it’s hot and dry during the day. Kammok uses a 40D ripstop nylon shell, which makes the quilt / poncho extremely durable albeit at the cost of a few extra ounces compared to the 7-20d fabrics most quilts in this guide utilize. Of course this is beneficial because if you’re wearing it as a jacket, you don’t want it to snag and tear easily.
Though this is an affordable option, it’s cost to warmth value is not very high and it’s only versatile in the summer months, or if you live somewhere warmer. It makes a great addition to a solid backpacking kit, but it won’t be your one and only sleep system.

BEST FOR: Backpackers or car campers who have trips planned for warmer months, and like the versatility of a poncho-style quilt.
